POSITION Learning & Development Coordinator


Reports to: Human Resources Director Benefit Classification: Salary, Exempt

Education Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related area; plus 3 years of experience in facilitating the development of, or creating/developing training programs.

Position Summary: Responsible for the management of a corporation-wide training and development system including developing, implementing, revising and maintaining training programs to provide consistency and continuity of learning throughout the organization. Monitors & reports on training compliance, effectiveness and training system improvements. Ensures learning events are relevant, timely, and designed with adult principles in mind.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Build, administer and maintain the company’s Learning Management System and database of training vendors and resources.

  2. Formulate, develop and implement a consistent training program for new hires and on-the-job training in conjunction with business and regulatory requirements.

  3. Defines measures of effectiveness for appropriate trainings, monitors and reports on training compliance, regularly audits company training success, and adjusts training programs accordingly.

  4. Oversee the creation and revisions of training materials to meet company training needs through the use of multimedia visual aids, webinars, online modules, videos, reference guides, assessments, trainers’ guides, etc.

  5. Oversee the creation and updating of training materials in Spanish or other necessary languages through the utilization of outside vendors where appropriate.

  6. Provides Train the Trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts on most effective adult learning techniques to ensure all involved in training understand training fundamentals.

Additional Job Functions

Perform other duties per supervisor’s discretion.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and measurement of training effectiveness.

  •  Prefer experience with a learning management software system to develop and manage online courses and materials.

  •  Experience in e-learning tools/development platforms (i.e. Captivate, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, HTML, etc.) and/or course authoring and graphics tools (e.g. Camtasia, Snagit, etc.).

  •  Experience narrating, recording and editing audio and visual training content.

  •  Effective oral, presentational and written communication skills. (Bilingual: English/Spanish is a plus.)

  •  Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to create most effective training programs.

  •  Regular travel, up to 25%
